Your bird dog’s performance afield will show you holes in your training game

It’s easy to view our retrievers through rose-colored glasses, but it’s also true that most dogs will never deliver a flawless performance in the field. Pay attention to what behaviors frustrate you during actual hunts so that you can address them through training. Most hunting dog owners have a pretty rosy view of their four-legged counterparts. And why shouldn’t they?
Dogs are incredible, and they can enhance your life in many ways, not the least of which is how they make upland hunting something truly special. It’s during those hunts, however, in which if we look closely, we might see a few flaws in our retriever’s game.
