Fishing with forward-facing sonar offers a different perspective

No letters in bass fishing have caused more controversy than FFS. It stands for forward-facing sonar, but every company that produces these types of units has its own name for it.
While anglers have tried to solve underwater mysteries since the first anchor and rope dropped, this latest technology is a universe removed from the little green boxes that were all the rage 40 years ago. The FFS controversy is so heated that several professional bass fishing circuits have limited its use.
