That text came across my phone as I was returning to a boat ramp near Monroe, Michigan, after a successful day of fishing for Lake Erie largemouth bass. While better known for walleyes, perch, and smallmouth bass, Lake Erie harbors a healthy green bass population that can be found in marinas and on breakwalls that line its extensive shoreline.
