Whether or not this year’s Nov. 8 firearms deer-hunt opener is a continuation of a march to 200,000 deer harvested will be known in several weeks. But for now, Minnesota DNR wildlife officials and hunters are optimistic that Saturday’s “opening day” will kick off a season made promising by a number of factors.
