Tom Venesky’s recent column suggests that chronic wasting disease is no reason to stop hunting deer. I’m not so certain of this.
While his suggestion of getting your deer tested before consumption is sound, it isn’t always practical. If I understand the testing process, the hunter deposits the head of his deer into a collection bin, and it is tested by the Game Commission.
