A young hunter from Luck continued a family tradition by punching his black bear tag with a 500-plus-pound bruin.
Rhett Swenson, 8, a third-generation bear hunter, said his “Papa”– grandfather Jeff Holdt of Luck – started trailing bears with hounds in 1989, the year his mom, Aalyssa, was born.
“His first year hunting, he got a record bear weighing 628 pounds live,” Rhett Swenson said. “The luck then continued in 2021 when my dad got a 515 live (bear).”
