Opinions vary at ASMFC striped bass public meeting in New York

On Sept. 17, the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission held a hearing at the New York Department of Environmental Conservation’s Marine Division Headquarters in King’s Park, to obtain public comment on the Draft Addendum III to Amendment 7 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Atlantic Striped Bass for Public Comment.
Between 60 and 75 people attended in-person, with others participating through an online webinar. Over half of the attendees represented the party and charter boat industry.
