Ohio’s duck zones could change in 2026 hunt

In response to input from the hunting public, the Ohio DNR’s wildlife division amended its proposed waterfowl hunting zones for the 2026-2030 seasons.
Mike Reynolds, administrator of wildlife management and research for the Division of Wildlife, told state wildlife council members during a July public hearing the zone changes proposed in April drew 179 responses during the comment period that ran June 9 to July 9.

Two Pennsylvania teens help win fly-fishing gold for U.S.

Two Pennsylvania boys helped win gold for the United States at the 22nd FIPS-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship in Idaho Falls, Idaho, in July.
Justin Hardie, 19, of Mercer, Mercer County, and Landon Cook, 18, of Marion Center, Indiana County, were on the five-member U.S. team that placed first out of eight teams, including second-place Poland. It is the third consecutive year the U.S. has finished on top.

Hunter survey shows opinions mixed on changes to Minnesota pheasant season

The Minnesota DNR has released the results of its survey of pheasant hunters for the 2024 season, which includes everything from hunter participation and satisfaction to views on certain regulations, as well as involvement in wildlife conservation activities.
The DNR periodically conducts surveys to better understand hunter attitudes about a range of issues, including preferences on management.
