There’s something about an old rowboat that’s hard to quit

It’s been 45 years since the author bought a used rowboat from a friend and he’s still contemplating fixing a few leaks and getting new oars. And he’s still catching fish out of it. (Photo by John DeLisle, Sr.)

It’s been a bit over 45 years ago when I first heard Joe was selling his old aluminum rowboat. I was instantly interested in purchasing it, though at the time, I was not sure I could afford it.
We were camping at a small Adirondack lake not far from Joe and his wife Lori’s campsite just up a little hill from our seasonal site. Joe was standing by their campfire when I approached him. When he saw me coming, he cheerfully greeted me. After returning his greeting along with a bit of small talk, I asked him what he was asking for his boat.
