Higher water is rarely a problem when using live bait for summer saugeyes. Using artificials may pose more of a challenge. Crankbaits can sometimes save the day, but not always. My challenge begins with where to find saugeyes, given the weather and water conditions that day.
They will feed, given the chance, to make up for the days spent navigating the higher flow. I go after the peak, when water starts settling down.
