New York’s legislative session wraps up soon as Lefton confirmed, crossbow bill advances in Assembly

New York’s legislative session concludes on Thursday, June 12, and lawmakers have been busy in the chamber following the state budget passage that was finally realized in May, six weeks after the April 1 deadline.
Among the recent developments is the May 28 confirmation by the Senate of Amanda Lefton as the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The Senate nearly unanimously approved Lefton’s appointment as she attended the session.
