After working to pass legislation that prohibits leaving trash and human waste on the ice during ice-fishing season in 2023, the grassroots Keep It Clean Coalition is eying the next step: consolidation under a state agency.
H.F. 1120, authored by Rep. Andrew Myers, R-Tonka Bay, would call for the creation of a statewide Keep It Clean program through one of the agencies, which would then oversee grant dollars for local entities to use.
“They realized that volunteer organizations alone can’t stay ahead of the environmental concerns.”
