The DNR presented its proposed biennial budget to the Senate Environment, Climate, and Legacy Committee on Thursday, Feb. 27. It includes proposed fee increases on boat registration, state parks permits, and water-use permits.
The DNR seeks to increase the AIS (aquatic invasive species) surcharge on boat registration fees, depending on the size of the vessel, and to allocate those dollars to AIS research and local entities’ efforts to mitigate the spread of AIS.
