Ice or no ice, go fishing at Whitney Point Reservoir in New York’s Broome County

To some, the Whitney Point Reservoir is perhaps best known for an annual event that hasn’t really been annual at all in recent years.

New York’s ice fishing season gets off to an early start compared to last year

“This was the earliest we’ve been on Brant (Lake) in years,” Connors, of East Greenbush, said.

Lake Puckaway fishery in good shape all the way around in Wisconsin’s Green Lake County

Anglers looking for a 40-inch northern pike stand about as good of a chance of finding that fish in Lake Puckaway as any other inland water in the state. The local DNR fisheries team out of the Wautoma office found pike up to 40 1⁄2 inches during a 2023 survey.
