As Minnesota’s muzzleloader deer-hunting season nears its end (Dec. 15) and a late CWD season approaches (Dec. 20-22), chronic wasting disease positive cases in hunter-harvested animals are up, totaling 80 as of Tuesday, Dec. 10 – a 67% increase from 2023. There were 48 total CWD-positive deer identified a year ago.
