Wisconsin has a new elk management plan that calls for new elk hunting regulations that could go into effect in 2025 with a new single season, new elk zones, and ag damage abatement plans.
The Natural Resources Board (NRB) approved the new 2024-34 plan at its Aug. 14 meeting, then approved new hunting regulations with a season from the Saturday nearest Oct. 15 through the Sunday nearest Dec. 15. The new plan also calls for issuing specific permits in 14 new units.
