A quick look at the turkey kill so far shows that as of May 7, hunters had registered 32,417 birds. Zone 1 registrations topped the list with 9,111 birds, with Zone 3 hunters next at 8,350.
Hunters registered 43,439 turkeys during the 2023 spring season, a 9% increase from 2022 and 6% above the 10-year average. I’m hoping to add to that total with two Zone 1 tags for the fourth season and one Zone 4 tag for the fifth season.
