Several weeks ago, it looked like lake conditions were ahead of normal following a lengthy warm spell. But the past two weeks have been miserable, weather-wise. Now it appears lake water temperatures are below normal and could make the May 11 Minnesota fishing opener a real challenge.
Water temperatures in the north and northwest have been stuck in the low 40s for about three weeks, and it’s cold nights that are the culprit. Here are some thoughts for the upcoming fishing opener.
