Trout permit sales were slightly down when the season got off to a cold, soggy start in early April.
Although the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission sold 2.74% more annual licenses than by opening day weekend last year, it sold 0.55% fewer trout stamps. As of April 7, 324,038 licenses and 294,598 trout permits were issued compared with 315,398 licenses and 296,206 permits as of April 2, 2023.
