The conversation started in 2021 when the Minnesota DNR introduced a program called “4 The Outdoors” at its annual roundtable event. The program was described as four steps in four years (officially beginning in 2023) to ensure future funding for conservation and outdoor recreation in Minnesota.
Fast forward to today, and DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen says she’s happy with where the DNR is finishing up the first year of the four-year process.
