Under the right conditions, some of New York’s best deer hunting happens during late muzzleloading seasons

After waiting all season for it, the snow was finally coming down quite steadily on the very last day of the 2022 Northern Zone muzzleloading season. Four of us spent the morning and early afternoon making a few small drives in one of our main hunting areas, and eventually the rest of the guys were ready to call it a season.
But I had other plans.
