Bass fishing: Best ways to target Pennsylvania’s abundant, fun-to-catch 2-pounders in the fall

Every deer hunter wants that wide-beam eight-pointer or better; bear hunters dream of topping the 500-pound mark, and bass fishermen only post on Facebook when their largemouth exceeds 5 pounds –  well, maybe 4 because those fish are good, too.
But honestly, the majority of harvested deer in Pennsylvania have only six points, or are does; a bear of 300 pounds is a fine accomplishment, and the vast number of largemouths caught and released in Pennsylvania don’t even weigh in at 3 pounds. Indeed, most largemouths in Keystone public waters are scaled at 1½  to 2½ pounds. They don’t draw whistles at tournaments, but they’re still fun to catch and their availability in numbers makes up what they lack in weight.
