Hunting dogs can be trained to accomplish amazing tasks. Chief among those is a game dog’s ability to locate downed game via hand signals. When a hunter’s dogs matures and begins to flourish, the tasks they perform can be so impressive that the handler comes to expect the dog to win every challenge, no matter the difficulty.
But hunters should take pause and ponder every situation before sending their dogs after game.
