Opposition among some Iowa deer hunters to non-resident deer-tag legislation

Hunters consistently have proven they are willing to pay huge costs as non-residents to hunt whitetails in Iowa. Now an Iowa bill introduced earlier this year would add 1,500 non-resident any-deer licenses each season. That would increase the number of any-deer licenses a year available to non-resident hunters to 7,500, not more than 35% of which could be bow licenses.

Habitat, ecological needs of pheasants are key focuses of 2023 Pheasant Fest

The 2023 National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic Feb. 17-19 included, of course, seminars about pheasants – specifically, pheasant predators and habitat and more.
Tim Lyons, Minnesota DNR upland game research scientist, and Dr. Ben Geaumont, research scientist at North Dakota State University Extension, led the discussions.
