This past weekend brought lots of thunderstorms and heavy rain, so that affected the bite a bit. If you were patient and worked at it you could boat a few walleyes on Lake Bemidji, Andrusia, Turtle, and Plantagenet. Live-bait rigs and leeches or crawlers or larger creek chubs were turning some fish. Spinners and crawlers worked along the outside weed edges also were working. Bass fishing remains excellent fishing plastics or topwater baits. You’ll find crappies and bluegills scattered along the cabbage. Muskie have started hitting bucktails on Lake Bemidji and Plantagenet.
