Blackfish tournament highlights the diversity of modern bass-fishing techniques

Blackfish Classic tournament organizers congratulated winners Brad Leuthner of Independence, Minn., and John Figi of Bloomington for their 20-pound, 6.3-ounce haul that won the inaugural event on Lake Minnetonka on Monday. Present in the photo are (l-r) Dan Stefanich, Blackfish director of marketing; event emcee Tim Lesmeister; Leuthner; Figi; Dave Osborne, Blackfish CEO; and Steve Geerstsen, Blackfish president. Leuthner also caught the big fish of the tournament, a 5-pound, 7.3-ouncer.

Inaugural event on Lake Minnetonka attracts 68 teams employing drop-shots, swim jigs, jig worms, chatter baits and other lures for big largemouths.
