State set to celebrate rare ‘true river’ Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener

While event has been held on the Mississippi River in the past, Gov. Mark Dayton will see a much different Mississippi in the greater St. Cloud area when he helps kick off the season — a shallower, more lazy river that calls for different angling techniques than those used on lakes and big rivers.
