Rochester, Vt. (AP) – A poaching investigation by Vermont game
wardens led to illegal hunting charges against a Rochester man and
led authorities to what they say was a marijuana cultivation
operation.
Wardens say they searched the home of 23-year-old Andrew
Stringer on Sunday after Stringer was linked to a buck that was
allegedly shot at night along Route 100 last November.
Wardens say deer DNA collected from the side of the road in
November was linked to a deer that Stringer claimed to have shot
during the deer season.
When Wardens searched Stringer’s home they discovered 48
marijuana plants being grown in the home.
Now Stringer is facing poaching charges. He and his girlfriend,
19-year-old Desiree Boardman, are also facing felony marijuana
charges
