Rochester, Minn. The DNR Division of Fisheries has rescheduled the public meeting to discuss smallmouth bass regulations on the Zumbro River. The meeting will be held on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Ponderosa Supper Club in Mazeppa.

DNR staff will present information and listen to comments regarding a proposal to expand the current two-mile catch-and-release regulation area to a 10-mile stretch of the river from the Wabasha County Road 7 bridge, downstream to Zumbro Falls. St. Paul The Minnesota DNR has lifted all burning restrictions as of 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15. Open burning permits had been suspended Sept. 28 in anticipation of the strike by state employees.

Residents needing to burn vegetative material can now acquire a burning permit from state fire wardens or DNR forestry offices. “The current cool and wet conditions will help in controlling permit fires,” said George Meadows, fire prevention coordinator for the DNR Forestry Division. “However, the DNR reminds people that they must still attend their fires
