Float guys doing best lately at the dam and the downstream slow water.

A few Oak Orchard Christmas cohos are around.

The better steelhead chances have been on the Oak lately with the relatively higher water flows compared to the smaller waterways.

Higher flows here now should redistribute the browns and possibly move some steelhead farther up the Oak and entice lower river or rivermouth fish to migrate, too.

Light line, small presentation, careful float guys are hooking some fish in the overflow pools.

The fishing may be a little tougher compared to how off-the-charts good it was earlier, but plenty of anglers are still coming in with nice catches of kings, steelhead and browns.

Near-shore water temps could possibly cool down, making for more hospitable conditions for staging fish.

August and end of summer mean the best and biggest kings of the open-lake season here.

Plenty of big kings, plump cohos, good steelhead, nice browns and fat lakers are being taken in the Orleans County waters of Lake Ontario.
