Anglers are into some steelhead action and fresh fish are being hooked up.

As anglers have hit the Oak just recently after the last spate of water, they have hooked up on some fresh steelhead. Some legit big fish are reported, too.

Some of the winter fish that have been hiding around should be reinvigorated and redistributed thanks to the rising and off-color flows here.

This area is building up something like a 2-foot snowpack (much higher banks and drifts in spots) that will surely mean a high-water spring when it begins to melt.

If you are hardy enough, you can possibly find some open driftable water in the most upstream fast-water areas on the largest tribs like the Genny.

Small and light presentations should yield a few steelhead or brown trout hook-ups here.

We need to break toward some serious melting action for best steelhead chances

Some local anglers are hitting the ice for panfish or pike or walleyes.

On the Oak, careful drifts of small beads and tipped jigs are yielding some brown trout and steelhead hookups at the dam, downstream holes and frogwater.
