About 280 wildlife violations were issued to 14 individuals.

JACKSON, Miss. — Hunters in Mississippi could begin to voluntarily tell the state how many deer or turkeys they kill. The proposal is in a bill that passed the state Senate on a split vote.

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Mississippi will hold a public meeting to discuss its response plan to a fatal infectious deer disease that has been confirmed in the state. The Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks said

Four-year-old buck was found dead and emaciated in late January near the Louisiana border, prompting the banning of deer feeding in several counties.

With so many new regulations concerning deer hunting in Mississippi, it’s not surprising that hunters can become confused.
