The Minnesota House Legacy Finance Committee failed to advance a funding bill for the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council on April 15 after lawmakers fell short of the required votes, delaying support for future conservation projects.<br

The proposal stems from recommendations by the Sustainable Foraging Task Force, which lawmakers created in 2025 to study how Minnesota should manage foraging on public lands.
