The Minnesota DNR has scheduled three events for the public to help them get to know an updated master plan that will help guide management of the nearly 28,000-acre WMA in southeastern Minnesota.

The adult buck was harvested opening weekend of the firearms season about 10 miles south of Bemidji in deer permit area 184.

Slot is 21-23 inches or over 28 inches; fall assessment shows walleye population is abundant enough to sustain some harvest.

The 58.25-inch fish, caught on Mille Lacs, bests previous record by an inch.

Anglers will have a three-walleye bag limit – down from four last winter – starting Nov. 1.

The angler caught a 1 pound, 12-ounce hybrid sunfish on Green Lake in Kandiyohi County.

Weather and habitat are the main influences on Minnesota’s pheasant population trends.

Longtime Minnesota DNR employee has remained active and working on conservation projects since retiring in 2016.
