In final report of the open-water season, water temps continue to drop and the fish are still biting – you just need to slow down at times and trigger the impulse bite.

Windy weather has put a damper on hunting and fishing across many areas of the state. But when the wind settles down, the action has been pretty good.
On Lake Michigan, the hot perch bite was disrupted by a change in weather, but some anglers had been catching them here and there.
The water temperature on northern Ohio lakes has cooled into the low 60s, which is triggering a fall pattern for walleyes, saugeyes, and crappies.
Falling temperatures have ignited the muskie bite in recent weeks in a number of fisheries.
Water temps in the high 50s across much of the state, which has meant an improved bite in some fisheries.
With a significant cold spell expected to arrive this week, water temperatures should continue to cool down and that should provide even better fall walleye activity.
