On inland waters, skim ice was forming on a lot of central and northern Ohio waters. But, when anglers have been able to get out, they’re catching saugeyes and crappies with some regularity.
There’s ice to walk on, but not much more than there was a week ago.
Southern Illinois bass warming up, north cools.
Smallmouth bite is a highlight.
The ice-fishing season has started and reports from most areas indicated that there should be increased fishing activity this weekend.
The first ice fishing reports of the season were offered up this week.
Walleye fishing remains very good in Saginaw Bay, the Detroit and St. Clair rivers, and Lake Erie.
Steelhead catch rates were high in most Lake Erie tributaries in early November, before the rains.
