Some of the smaller lakes in the Upper Peninsula are frozen over and anglers are sneaking out and catching panfish, walleyes, and pike.

Anglers are catching good numbers of crappies in many places, and yellow perch has been a bonus in many of these locations.
These creeks were putting out nice numbers of steelhead through early December.
Walleye activity has improved, especially early and late each day.
Muskie action has been excellent on at least one popular fishery.
Hard-water anglers are starting to get excited, but safety is always the priority, especially on early ice.
With early ice, there are not a lot of bites that have stood out up to this point.
While the ice has improved, most walleye and crappie reports continue to be limited.
Some anglers report they are catching good numbers of walleyes in places.
