Walleyes seem to be most active during low-light periods or overnight, and deadsticks with minnows seem to be most productive.

Steelhead fishing remains a good bet on most traditional steelhead streams up and down the Great Lakes.

A 17-pound steelhead and two 16-pounders reportedly were pulled from this fishery.

Saugeyes and crappies are the name of the game at these places.

There was some decent walleye and panfish action already being reported. And with the warmer, more stable weather this week, it should be a solid weekend of ice fishing.

Before the frigid wave, crappie bite was hot.

With a significant cold front behind the snow early last week, there hasn’t been much fishing activity.

Northern New York may be your best option for ice fishing.

There hasn’t been much fishing activity, at least not as much as there could have been if lake conditions remained favorable and ice would have continued building.
