Ohio Outdoor News Fishing Report – June 16, 2022
Walleye fishing on Lake Erie and its tributaries is a highlight of this fishing report.

Walleye fishing on Lake Erie and its tributaries is a highlight of this fishing report.

Panfish action is going strong with most crappies done spawning or just finishing up, while bluegills are bit behind the crappies as far as the spawn.

Catfish bite picks up as many fish move deeper.

The panfish spawn is in varying phases, wrapped up in the south, ongoing in central Wisconsin, and just starting in the north.

Bass season officially opens June 15, summer arrives.

There’s a lot of low to mid 60-degree water temperatures being reported and that seems to have allowed those shallow walleye and panfish bites to hang in there for another week.

Fishing action heating up on big and small waters.

Crappies were hitting in Presque Isle Bay in the northwest, in Lake Wallenpaupack, in the northeast, in Loyalhanna Lake in the southwest and Blue Marsh in the southeast, and in lots of waters in between.

Anglers are finding crappies in every region of the state just coming off the spawning beds and hungry.
