Some of the best walleye action is taking place at night and by anglers willing to get away from the crowds. Panfish also seem to be affected by all the activity.
Anglers are catching better numbers of walleyes, especially early and late each day, with 15 to 20 feet of water being best in most areas.
Overall, fishing reports have not been outstanding, but some walleyes and panfish are being caught. The best action is taking place early and late each day and expect everything to improve as ice conditions do.
There was a definite uptick in ice fishing action across the northern part of the state.
