Things are coming along nicely on Devils Lake. Although a little slower than normal, we finally have some fishable ice in the basin.

Fishing pressure has been light around Ohio, but anglers are finding willing saugeyes and walleyes on inland waters.

Caution and common sense are definitely the two things everyone needs to remember until the cold air filters in – hopefully later this month.

Have gained some ice on the smaller waters. So best to concentrate on the smaller lakes. Still, the fishing has reportedly been good for those able to get out on the ice.

It’s a slow going start to the season and we are still seeing anywhere from open water to 10 inches of ice throughout the Devils Lake Basin.

Brad Hawthorne ventures onto early Minnesota ice and shares a few tips for finding and catching walleyes on first ice.

The warm and windy weather definitely took a toll on the ice conditions across eastern South Dakota. Ice thickness varies greatly on those lakes where the ice remains.

It’s finally here — ice fishing season. Some have ventured out this past week and had some decent success. But always remember to do it safely.
