Excellent ice-fshing conditions existed on many lakes across the state by the end of February, and anglers were doing well.

Some lakes still have decent ice, some are becoming open. Where anglers are catching what.

The prolonged frigid weather has been good for ice fishermen in Pennsylvania, who seem to be enjoying their best season in years.

A cold snap over the last few weeks resulted in safe ice on many waters, and lots of anglers took advantage. Here’s where they’re catching ’em.

For those who do venture out onto the cold water, the opportunity to land a large walleye is increasing.

It’s walleye catching time on a number of big rivers across the state.

Finally some ice fishing was happening in recent weeks. Here’s what they’re catching and where.

Anglers who were still fishing in recent weeks were mostly targeting recently stocked trout in small lakes, walleyes in rivers and a few lakes, and panfish.

Fishing has been pretty good in the rivers.
