The midsummer panfish bite has arrived.

The catfish bite is on at a number of fisheries.

Seems like a rain storm or two popped up somewhere in the state most every day in July, and downpours were common. But the bass fishing stayed consistently good most places

On Lake Erie, the Walleye are still migrating from the west and anglers should see good, steady numbers for the next few months.

Catfishing has been hot at Octoraro, and in the Delaware, Allegheny, Monongahela and Susquehanna rivers.

The delayed harvest areas and other deeper trout streams are still producing trout.

Despite heavy rainstorms making some streams muddy and temporarily unproductive, smallmouth bass fishing was reported to be excellent in many streams in recent weeks.

Anglers are catching some nice smallmouth bass a few northern pike, and an occasional muskellunge, on the entire length of the Allegheny River.

In recent weeks, bass fishing has been fairly hot.
