Its walleyes and northern pike seem to doing just fine these days.

Walleyes and perch tend to be primary targets for anglers, although a growing smallmouth bass population garners plenty of attention as well.

It’s an excellent multi-species fishery that’s noted for a consistently strong walleye population, with panfish, pike, and muskies providing excellent secondary angling options.

If you simply fish the lake and take what it gives you rather than keying on a specific fish species, you’ll likely have some success.

Lizzie’s physical characteristics – an abundance of bulrush and cattail stands, along with plenty of submerged vegetation – provide the ideal situation for its bass and panfish to flourish.

At just 526 acres, the lake’s name is a bit deceiving, but Big does have some decent structure along with plenty of vegetation above and below its surface. That’s where you’ll find plenty of largemouth

Despite minimal natural reproduction, a strong walleye population has come to be expected in Pike.
