As the days begin getting a bit shorter and the nights a bit cooler, Glen Schmitt offers an optimistic view of peak of summer fishing across Minnesota.

Water temps have slowly dropped into the mid- and high 70s and the walleye bite has started to pick up a bit, although you still have to work for them.

Work lakes that have a larger walleye population in them and key on low-light periods of the day and your odds of hooking more fish increases.

The fish are deep and summer patterns are in full effect – it just took a little longer this summer for some reason.

The fishing are in typical summer patterns on Lake of the Woods. Joe tells you where to find them and what colors seem to be working the best.
