As with the past several weeks, anglers doing best continue to cover water with spinners and crawlers or crankbaits, basically picking off the few aggressive fish that exist.

Slowing down a bit this week to get the bigger bite. Also forced to apply finesse tactics more than usual. And in spite of some rain, still a bunch of fish willing to play. And

Algae blooms have arrived, but that cuts down on the light penetration and can make for some good fishing.

There continues to be a lot of very solid panfish reports across the state and quite a bit of angling attention focused on them.

Amazing weather this past week, and the fishing has been all of that, too. Some solid patterns and ways to find/catch fish.

Tip the odds in your favor by keying on low-light periods of the day for all species. Get up early and stay late and you’ll likely catch a few more fish.

Weedlines remain a major producer for all fish species and the general rule is that you’ll find bigger panfish, pike, and bass on deep vegetation.
