Recapping the ice-fishing season. What a winter it was.

If you head north for panfish, look at the shallow weeds to hold fish.

While there’s fewer people fishing, those going are catching crappies and bluegills in shallow water.

West metro still has good ice, edges are getting soft and things will change on a daily basis now. The weather forecast looks like ice angling is coming to an end soon around here. Crappie

It’s time to start looking to those traditional, late-ice panfish spots to start holding better numbers of fish rather than those deep basin areas.

There has been some warmer weather that came through, but ice conditions remain solid. We are still having a very good suspended crappie bite in basin areas with fish eating jigs tipped with plastics, spoons

There’s small panfish to be had, but those bigger fish sure seem to have remained in a negative feeding mood.
