Ice developed quickly in many areas since last week. A look at the fishing report from across Minnesota on Nov. 28, 2023.

Until ice up, there were a few hardcore anglers jigging with emerald shiners from about 12 – 24 feet of water and catching some nice walleyes on the Rainy River.

There are still good numbers of walleyes and saugers in various spots across the south shore chasing schools of shiners.

Back bays are iced up. The lake and larger bays are still wide open.

There hasn’t been a lot of fishing activity, but with the nice weather, trolling crankbaits on the shallow rocks and points should continue to produce walleyes, especially late in the day.

Jigging with emerald shiners, rainbows or fatheads is working well.
