Salmon and trout bite on Great Lakes seriously solid. A look at the Michigan fishing report from across the state on July 12, 2024.

The fish are starting to move out a bit. Here’s where they’re being caught.

Boat anglers reported good fishing here. They did well in 90 to 110 feet of water.

In southern Michigan, summer patterns going strong. Overall across the state, walleye fishing has been good.

Anglers at this fishery had luck catching plenty of lake trout when trolling with spoons in the flats.

Anglers reported very good trout fishing in 15 to 80 feet of water here.

What anglers are catching and where they’re catching ’em – there’s definitely fish to be had, especially on the Great Lakes.

With the mayfly hatch underway here, walleye were reported to have been active higher up in the water column but remaining in deeper water.
