It’s a 176-acre, aesthetically appealing, remote lake with a good population of warmwater species including muskies, pike, bass, and panfish.

A stream or stream section with a Wilderness Trout Water designation enables anglers to fish for wild trout in a natural, remote environment where intrusive activities by man are minimal.

Most anglers fish slip boppers and leeches for limit catches of saugeyes. There is an excellent population of medium-sized fish in the 12-16-inch range. Saugeye netting results show a good population of adult saugeyes available

Maple’s fish community is pretty typical – not unlike most lakes in this region. It’s a panfish/bass lake first, full of pickling-size northern pike, and features windows of OK walleye-fishing opportunities.
